I am starting with the 640 to improve on, and still have the OG and Kaplan 800 to review. (don't know if this helps or hurts me, but I did very well on the intermediates and pretty well on the hard ones) (and I might have made a dumb arithmetic mistake!) ☺It definitely highlighted some weaknesses- mental stamina for the long, dense RC questions that came at the end (how about a giant dense essay on Virgil's Aeneid, ugh!), unfamiliarity with data sufficiency problems, and not paying enough attention to tricky question stems. Now, I can drill-down on specific weaknesses and just plain review more. ☺I have reviewed all sections and done some practice problems, but haven't studied insanely in-depth on my weak points. Perhaps, however, they wouldn't want to admit lower scores? General consensus is Kaplan tests are tougher, and therefore their score reflects a higher actual score. ☺Browsing the internet to see what the equivalency of a Kaplan 640, I saw several users who had several lower scores reporting >720 range actual GMAT. Try it out- they offer white noise, pink noise, and brown noise.Īlthough I wanted higher, there are several things that make this a great score: I have it set to brown noise (mostly bass, described as a low roar) at about 80%. I used to use this to get to sleep when my downstairs neighbors played spanish music really loudly at 3am, now it helps to drone out all other noise.
#GMAT TIMER FOR MAC INSTALL#
This is a noise generator site, no install necessary.
The other useful program is found here ➠ You can also set a small alert sound on each 2 minute interval so your brain registers the length of 2 minutes better. I leave the timer (icon mode works well too!) in view, and that way if I'm spending a little more time on a problem than I'd like, I know when it's about time to move on. I start the stopwatch when I begin the set, and also start a repeating 2-minute countdown timer. I have been using this to time myself while doing quizzes and practice sets. This timer can work a stopwatch function (with different alerts every n intervals) and also has a countdown timer function (also with alert functions).
